NBA Trade Rumor: Orlando Magic To Sign On Croatian Damjan Rudez

Damjan Rudez is reportedly coming back to the NBA to play with the Orlando Magic in the upcoming 2016-2017 season. The European player has played under two previous NBA teams.

Rudez, who hails from Croatia, is expected to sign up with the Orlando Magic for at least three seasons, according to Eurohoops. Not much detail about the deal has been released as of the moment. Aside from the Orlando Magic, several European basketball clubs were also reportedly trying to recruit Rudez.

He first joined the NBA when signed up with the Indiana Pacers for three seasons starting in 2014. He gained the distinction of being the highest three-point shooter rookie in 2014. After staying with the Pacers for at least a year, he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He only stayed with the Timberwolves for one season.

Rudez, a forward player was a free agent when contacted by the Orlando Magic. His shooting skills are definitely a plus for the team. His three-point shooting average scores hovers around 40 percent during the last two seasons.

Rudez however, lacks the stamina to effectively block wing players. The 6-foot-9 Croatian player does not have the bulk to block power forward players either, according to ESPN. Nevertheless, the Orlando Magic will no doubt make use of his talent in the coming season. The fact that he is not expensive is also one of his major selling points.

The Croatian player is set to join other recent Orlando Magic recruits such as fellow forward player Serge Ibaka. Other players include Bismack Biyombo, who agreed to sign up with the Magic for a four year contract. Fellow European Nikola Vucevic is joining the team as a center player, too. With his three-pointers in mind, Rudez could expect some major play time as long he maintains his accuracy.
