Medal of Honor: Warfighter – New Gameplay Demo Revealed For E3 2012

Electronic Arts has released an entirely new gameplay demo for their upcoming first-person shooter video game “Medal of Honor: Warfighter” that was presented at their E3 2012 Conference.

“Medal of Honor: Warfighter” is powered by DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine (the same engine that “Battlefield 3” uses) and the demos have been brought to the fans via a high-end PC. Both single-player and multiplayer versions of the game are going to use the latest version of Frostbite 2, and will only support Windows Vista/7 and DirectX 10 and 11.

The new game is a direct sequel to “Medal of Honor” that released in 2010, and will continue the story from the previous game. Players will continue to control Tier 1 Operators through various scenarios including rescuing hostages in Abu Sayyaf’s stronghold in the Philippines and assaulting Al-Shabaab’s Pirate Town on the Somali Coast.

“Medal of Honor Warfighter puts players in the boots of today’s most highly trained and skilled warriors to experience missions that have a dotted line to real world terrorist events. This is Tier 1 on a global scale, featuring real world hotspots in the single-player campaign and introducing international Tier 1 Operators in multiplayer. This groundbreaking move gives players a window into the look and style of elite soldiers from 10 different countries around the world,” says the game’s official page. “With Medal of Honor Warfighter, gamers can represent their nation’s Special Operations Forces on the multiplayer battlefield. Medal of Honor introduces a new mode where the world’s best-of-the-best warriors go head-to-head in online competition.”

The multiplayer mode in the game features 13 playable Tier-1 Special Forces units from as many as 10 countries – SASR (Australia), JTF2 (Canada), KSK (Germany), FSK and HJK (Norway), GROM (Poland), Spetsnaz (Russia), UDT/SEALs (South Korea), SOG (SSG/SIG) (Sweden), SAS (United Kingdom), SEALs, SFOD-D and OGA (United States).

“Medal of Honor Warfighter” is set to hit the store shelves in October this year on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC.
