There have been speculations that the first few episodes of season eight of "The Vampire Diaries" have something to do with the first season of the series. In line with this, the episode titles revealing to be famous lines from the first season have led to the assumptions that the events to occur on season eight may be connected with the events prior to the first season.

According to Australia Network News, the episode titles are going to be famous lines that were developed during the first season. The first episode will allegedly be entitled "Hello, Brother" which is Damon's famous line during the pilot episode; the second will be entitled "Today Will Be Different" which is Elena's entry on her diary during the pilot; and third, "You Decided That I Was Worth Saving" which was said during the finale of the first season.

There hasn't been any explanation as to why the titles are famous lines from the first seasons. However, people have come up with the theory that it may be to serve as tribute since season eight will already be the series finale of "The Vampire Diaries."

Nina Dobrev To Return As Katherine Pierce, Not Elena Gilbert

One of the greatest controversies about the upcoming series finale is the return of actress, Nina Dobrev after exiting the show during the sixth season. One of Dobrev's famous roles is the protagonist, Elena Gilbert, who is in love with Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). However, it has been reported that Somerhalder doesn't want to be in a scene with Dobrev anymore, allegedly because of his wife (Nikki Reed) is jealous of his ex-girlfriend.

Thus, Parent Herald reported that Dobrev may come back to the series as Katherine Pierce, Elena's doppleganger so to avoid any scene with Somerhalder. There hasn't been any confirmation to these speculations, although Dobrev is already confirmed to make a return on the series.
