How The Lenovo Moto Z Stacks Up Against The New iPhone 7: Specs, Features And Design Comparison

Lenovo is definitely not a stranger to the smartphone market. But in its years as a player, it has not stacked up well against the bigger players, such as Apple's iPhone like. The company is now looking to change that, with the release of the Moto Z, which is its bet against the iPhone 7 in the high-end section of the smartphone market.

The Moto Z: An Introduction

As noted by, the Moto Z was first launched on Tuesday in Beijing, just a day before the iPhone 7 was launched by Apple. The Moto Z, which in many ways is a first for Lenovo, has set out to be an industry leader.

"Moto Z undoubtedly will lead the industry change and redefine the smartphone product, which is also the most representative device after Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility," said Yang Yuanqing, who is the chairman and CEO of the company.

Yang went on to claim that smartphones now lack innovations and have been doing the same thing for years now. "The concept and design of the modular smartphone involves more functions and applications and expands the development space for smartphones," he said.

He also went on to share that the big pan for the Moto Z is to expand the company's reach to North America, but that testing would be done within China first,

Specs Comparison: The iPhone 7

According to Phandroid, the standard iPhone 7 as a 4.7 inch screen that has a 1334 x 750 pixel resolution. Its processor is Apple's latest chipset, the A10. Meanwhile, it has a 1960 mAh battery, which should last at least two hours more than its predecessor. The unit also comes in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB internal storage options.

The device sports a 12 megapixel rear camera and a 7 megapixel front camera.

Specs Comparison: Moto Z

Meanwhile, the Lenovo Moto Z has a 5.5 inch screen with a better display resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and comes with either a 2600 mAh or 3500 mAh battery. It comes in 32GB and 64GB internal storage options.

The Moto Z comes with either a 21 megapixel or 13 megapixel rear camera and a 13 megapixel front camera.
