Electronic Arts and Visceral Games’ upcoming survival horror video game “Dead Space 3” has now received its first official extended gameplay footage. The new footage, which is approximately 20 minutes in length, has surfaced just a day after we discussed the new features and details that had arrived for the game.

The gameplay footage has been narrated by Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis and is aimed to provide you with an in-depth approach to how Isaac Clarke and his partner Sgt. John Carver work their way through the frozen planet of Tau Volantis.

The video also gives you a firsthand preview of the new environments, co-op mechanics, weapons, enemies, boss fights, and more.

For those of you checking out the video for the very first time, here’s a little background check on “Dead Space 3”: The greater part of the game takes place on a frozen planet known as Tau Volantis. Having crash-landed on the planet, Isaac hopes that this unfriendly new environment contains the key to ending the Necromorph curse. Isaac is set to return as the protagonist, along with Ellie Langford from “Dead Space 2,” who is separated from Isaac during the crash, and a new character Sgt. John Carver.

“Isaac Clarke returns, joined by merciless soldier John Carver, to chase a risky plan that promises to finally stop the Necromorphs. Together Clarke and Carver must explore the frozen planet of Tau Volantis and track down the secret they hope will end the Necromorph plague forever, all while overcoming avalanches, treacherous ice-climbs, and the violent wilderness,” says the game’s official page. “Facing deadlier evolved enemies and brutal elements, the unlikely pair must work together to save mankind from the impending apocalypse.”

The game is set to arrive in February 2013.
