'Frozen 2' News And Updates: Script Not Done Yet; Story No Longer A Sequel?

With not much official news, fans can't help but speculate what will happen on the second installment of the hit Disney animated movie "Frozen" 2. Speculations are, the film will not be a continuation of the first one. Cast member Kristen Bell also said she has yet to receive the script for the film.

"We haven't started recording, we're just waiting to get our hands on the script," Bell said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Time reported "They take a lot of time over there to just perfect it, and it has to go through a lot of development to make sure that it's exactly the story that needs to be told." she added

But the actress, who lent her voice to Anna seems to be excited about the next film, "Frozen 2." "I hope we start recording soon," Bell said.

There are rumors that the recording for "Frozen 2" keeps getting delayed because the movie is developing a new plot which requires new characters. Rumors claim that the story line will be about a prince in search for his princess. Other reports also says that Snow Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Olaf (Josh Gad) are not making their appearance in the movie.

On the other hand, Menzel had a brief talk with Entertainment Tonight last May, cited by Vine Report, about the movie and a potential same-sex relationship for Elsa. The actress showed her interest in reprising her role, so the reports about her quitting is quite unbelieavable.

Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, "The Snow Queen", the animated musical fantasy "Frozen" was considered a massive commercial and critical success. The movie generated $1.3 billion worldwide in the box office. It also won two Academy Awards; Beast Original Song for "Let It Go" and Best Animated Feature. A short animated sequel "Frozen Fever" was released on March 2015 about Elsa's birthday surprise for Anna.

"Frozen 2" is set for release some time in 2018.
