John Winston Ono Lennon or John Lennon is best known as a member of the Beatles. Together with Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr - they formed the Beatles. Arguably, the greatest rock and roll band ever formed.

John Lennon is not only a talented singer or just a songwriter. He was also a peace activist. He is widely considered as the face and icon of peace. From his drawings, music, and even interviews, John embodied the word "peace".

On the International Day Of Peace, we will see John Lennon again, in a form of a 2,500-square foot painting. The psychedelic portrait dubbed as "Imagine Again" is set to rise today. The massive art will be displayed for eight short hours at Naumburg Bandshell neighboring 72nd street and fifth avenue. The painting will be revealed by noon until 8 PM.

The painting symbolizes as a tribute to John Lennon who was a peace advocate during the 1970's until his death on December 8, 1980. The colorful canvas were Lennon is playing a guitar portrays peace and harmony.

Eric Waugh, the Artist who created the painting used 12 gallons of paint, 17 brushes, and spent 88 hours to create the work.

"It is my hope that people surround the painting and pay tribute to John and his dream for a world without strife, war, and conflict," he said. "Recent events, at home and abroad, show that John's vision remains as important as ever," Waugh added, who worked out of his studio in Austin, Texas.

Erich Waugh is not new to large-scale paintings. In 2001, he won Guinness World Recon for the largest painting on canvas by a single artist.

"My goal for this project is to inspire others to help lift the spirits of those who desperately need it," he continued.
