In Honor Of Yo-Kai Watch 2

According to Siliconera, the StreetPass Weekend is in honor of "Yo-Kai Watch 2." The event will start the same day the new Nintendo 3DS game is launched. The previous "Yo-Kai Watch" kept other players in the game's inn after being StreetPassed.

As such, the said event will allow gamers to connect with other players again. Gamers will be able to grab up a Yo-Kai, according to Cinemablend. This also lets them make the most out of the game's connectivity features.

The "Yo-Kai Watch 2" was first released in Japan. It was both critically and commercially successful. Back i May 2016, Nintendo announced the North American release of the "Yo-Kai Watch 2" for September 30. It is also scheduled to be released on October 15 in Australia and New Zealand. Europe won't have it until the second quarter of 2017.

StreetPass With "Dragon Quest VII: Fragments Of The Forgotten Past"

The StreetPass Weekend event is also a chance for "Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past" players to meet. Players can trade their Traveller's tablets with others. This is achieved by just passing by them. The RPG game will be directly available for the Nintendo 3DS.

The StreetPass And Nintendo's 3DS Fate

The highly-anticipated Nintendo NX will launch next year. It's rumored to be a hybrid of a home console and handheld gaming device. In lieu of this, NX might replace the Wii U and the 3DS. If the 3DS were to be retired, the StreetPass might be let go.
