Acer Predator 17X In-Depth Review: Specs, Features And Price

The gaming market has long embraced laptops to have at least a 17-inch screen for great gaming experiences. However, the standard was recently raised, as Acer introduced the Acer Predator 17X, which has VR capability.

The Acer Predator 17X is packed with an outstanding 4K display, a fast quad-core processor and a reliable SSD speed. But is it really worth the buy?

Acer Predator 17X: Aesthetics and Design

The Acer Predator 17X boasts a 17-inch screen to make up for the lack of interesting features regarding its overall design. It opts to stay minimalist and traditional as it focuses more on its internal features.

Acer Predator 17X: Features and Internal Ports

The Acer Predator 17X  features a number of ports and connectors as it has an AC power jack on the left side, two USB 3.0 ports that ensure high-speed transfers, a microphone jack and a strategically placed SD card reader.

Acer Predator 17X: Keyboard and Touchpad

The Acer Predator 17X has a chiclet-style keyboard that is surprisingly very comfortable when in use. Also, its LED backlighting is very immersive as well as helpful when playing in low-light conditions. It also has its own NumPad to the right of the device's QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard also features customizable backlighting.

Acer Predator 17X: Performance

The Acer Predator 17X is packed with a powerful quad-core Intel Core 17-6820HK processor, enabling superior gaming performance and multitasking. The 6th-generation Skylake CPU is also very helpful in its speed onslaught as it boasts a clock speed of 2.7 GHz and Turbo Boost it up to 3.6 GHz.

Final Thoughts on the Acer Predator 17X

Truly, the Acer Predator 17X is a laptop that would be perfect for those who want to have a machine that features a 4K resolution display that supports Virtual Reality capabilities and ultra-fast computing and processing speeds.

However, if its hefty $2,800 is too much for you, then you might as well consider an alternative.
