Microsoft Surface Desktop In The Works To Compete Against Apple's iMac, Launches in October

Joining the Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 hype is the reported all-in-one (AIO) desktop under the Surface brand. The latest reports point out that the supposed Surface desktop will be launched next month.

Microsoft is reportedly gunning for the launch of Surface desktop in late October in New York City alongside Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2. This is around the same timeframe that Apple is also reported to release a redesigned version of iMac. According to a report published on The Verge, the new hardware product of Microsoft is an all-in-one computer that would surely defy Apple's iMac.

Surface Desktop Explains Surface Ergonomic Keyboard

Strengthening this report in the rumor mill is a German website who discovered about Microsoft's Surface Ergonomic Keyboard at the Bluetooth Special Interest Group. This revolutionary keyboard sparked rumors indicating that it will come very soon alongside a new desktop made by the software conglomerate. As described, the said Surface Ergonomic Keyboard does not fit a tablet or laptop, thus it is intended for desktop.

PC World, on the other hand, stated that it does not exactly prove that an AIO is on the way, although the possibility is still there.

Surface Desktop Comes In Full HD, 4K Displays

According to IB Times, the suspected Surface desktop will be available in three variants: a 21-inch that comes with full HD display and a 24-inch and 27-inch models that will come with 4K resolution.

The Surface desktop has no other available details for now. BGR noted, however, that the Surface desktop will be an iMac competitor. There are no reports on how this will be achieved yet.

The AIO Surface desktop is rumored to arrive next month. More details about the specifications, price and availability are expected by then.
