Surface Phone Coming in October Alongside Surface Pro 5

The Surface Phone, the widely rumored handset by Microsoft, may come sooner than expected. According to recent reports, the most-awaited smartphone may be revealed this month.

Microsoft may finally be ready to unveil the Surface Phone in an October event alongside the Surface Pro and the Surface-branded all-in-one desktop. Although the tech company is tight-lipped about its development and fans are actually unsure if it is in production, industry observers are confident that a launch is imminent.

Surface Phone Rumored Specs

Amidst launch reports, the rumor mill is hard at work producing updates about the Surface Phone specs. It is said that Microsoft will go all out, integrating powerful chips in a handset. If rumors are to be believed, the Windows phone may come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 or an Intel Kaby Lake processor.

To pair up with the latest CPU is an equally powerful RAM. There are reportedly three variants in the works with different memory configurations. One should have 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and the second is said to have 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Lastly, the premium handset should have a massive 8GB RAM with 512GB memory.

Other expected features include a biometric scanner and a Windows 10 operating system.

Surface Phone to Come with Surface Pen?

The handset may come with a Surface Pen like the Galaxy Note 7. Rumors also suggest a keyboard accessory that can be paired with the Surface Phone. The specs reportedly are aimed towards the business-oriented, which will need a high-powered smartphone that they can take notes with.

However, these accessories would put the device at phablet category. This may be possible if the rumored three variants would include a mobile device with a bigger screen.

Microsoft is yet to confirm the Surface Phone, but official news may finally come in the coming weeks.
