Android Nougat Rolling Out To Samsung Midrange Phones: Galaxy J5, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A9 Included In List

The Android Nougat has been released more than a month ago and more Android users are getting excited to get their own Nougat update. However, as per recent reports, the new Android firmware has just been sent out to mobile phone developers and they are now testing the platform on their devices. As for Samsung's Nougat roll out, it was said that the company is also already in the testing process.

Android Nougat Rolling Out To Samsung Phones, Release Date

According to an IB Times report from two weeks ago, Samsung is already doing Nougat tests on its latest Samsung Galaxy S devices, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge. This means that depending on the outcome of the tests, the S7 and S7 Edge can get the Android Nougat update as early as October. The Note 7 might also get the Nougat update around the same time as the S7 and S7 Edge. The eligible non-flagship devices will then follow.

According to a report, Android Nougat update will also be released to Galaxy A9, Galaxy A9 Pro, 2015 Galaxy A7, 2016 Galaxy A7, 2016 Galaxy J5, 2016 Galaxy A5, Galaxy C7, Galaxy C5, Galaxy On7, Galaxy A8 and Galaxy Tab S2. Needless to say, flagship phones might need to go first in getting their Android Nougat update and these midrange phones will then get theirs soon after.

Since the testing is said to have been done to the S7 and S7 Edge, then the Android Nougat might be released to the 2016 flagship phones first. Then, the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and Galaxy Note 5 will follow. If things go smoothly and the testing goes well, the first Samsung Android Nougat roll out might start October. It could however be extended to 2017 depending on how things work out.
