According to reports, CW could now be looking for a new and younger actor, preferably 14 years old or at least someone who looks like one, to take the demigod role. If this rumor is true, it would make sense that the rest of the cast will also be changed as Jackson's friends would have to be in the same age too.

Sources claim that CW has already given a $12 million budget for the series and prefers the show to start from scratch. This means that instead of continuing where the movie left off, they will be starting again from book 1 "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief". This explains why they need to find another actor to play the titular role and possibly the rest of the cast.

"Percy Jackson and the Olympians" is a film series based on the novel by Rick Riordan of the same title. The film series grossed almost $430 million at the international box office which made fans speculate that a third movie installment is not too far away. However, it's been two years but no announcement has been made for its next installment.
