What To Expect At Blizzcon 2016: Overwatch's Sombra, StarCraft 2 And More

We are nearing the BlizzCon 2016 event, in which we will witness what Blizzard has in store for us. In fact, they have already released a schedule for the Nov. 4 and 5 so we have a pretty good idea what's going to be announced. Here's a round-up of what we can expect based on the schedule.

BlizzCon 2016: Overwatch's Sombra

One of the most awaited update to Blizzard's Overwatch is the new playable character Sombra. It is believed that she will be revealed at the upcoming BlizzCon 2016, as evidenced by a countdown timer, Eurogamer reported. The character has been anticipated since June and it is likely that she will finally be announced at the annual event.

BlizzCon 2016: What's Next For Hearthstone

At the schedule released by Blizzard, a "Hearthstone - What's Next" panel is going live right after the opening ceremony on the first day of BlizzCon 2016. According to reports, it is highly likely that the next expansion for the title is going to be announced at during this time. This is actually not implausible. Per VentureBeat, releases of major updates are spaced four to five months, so a December launch after August is within the range. To recall, the Adventure "One Night in Karazhan" was released last time.

If this turns out to be true, it is reported that the next Hearthstone expansion will add more than a hundred of new cards. There are also rumors indicating that this marks the end of the standard rotation. Blizzard previously announced that the next rotation would start in 2017 alongside the first expansion of the year, but it is not expected any time soon. This is because after an expansion, an Adventure would most likely be released.

BlizzCon 2016: Diablo News

Things are not looking up for those expecting a huge Diablo news at BlizzCon 2016. A short 45 minutes was allotted for a mysterious "Diablo 20th Anniversary" panel on Nov. 4. It is unknown what will be unveiled happen during the slot, but hopefuls are claiming that the next installment to the hit franchise will be announced.

It has been four years since Diablo 3 was released, so it's high time for Diablo 4 to arrive. If Blizzard does reveal that they're working on the sequel, then we may see it come to life before 2017 ends.

However, it is believed that a Diablo 2 HD remaster is more likely. There are even talks of an expansion for Diablo 3. Nevertheless, it is expected that Blizzard will hold a celebration during BlizzCon 2016, but whether we will be treated to an announcement or not remains a mystery.

BlizzCon 2016: World Of Warcraft: Legion

During the WoW panel, we can expect to hear about what's next for the recently launched title. There might be exciting news regarding upcoming patches, updates and content, so we can watch out for this one. In other news, there are also panels for Heroes of the Storm and StarCraft 2, so we may get new heroes as well.

Tickets to the BlizzCon 2016 event on Nov. 4 and 5 are sold out, but virtual tickets are being sold here. It can be used to watch a livestream of the whole event for $40.
