The Android Jelly Bean update for the Verizon-based Galaxy Nexus was first announced in July. Although it has already started pushing out the new update, there is no surety as to when it will fully reach all the users. However, a new bootloader has been revealed that will require users to manually upgrade their devices with the latest Android OS.

The easy to unlock bootloader on the Nexus is set to make it relatively easy for users to flash the update (JRO03O) themselves. However, users have to make sure that they are running a stock build and have all the right tools.

Users will just need to go back to stock 4.0.4/IMM76K by using either Wug's Toolkit or my Return to Stock guide. Next, unlock the device and install a custom recovery (either ClockworkMod or TWRP), flash the IMM76Q package using the custom recovery, and flash the JRO03O update using the custom recovery.
