2016 MacBook Pro: New Look, New Feel And The October Release

Apple has been receiving plenty of backlashes, as the company has not confirmed whether or not the public will see the 2016 MacBook Pro before it turns into the 2017 MacBook Pro. Fortunately, all signs indicate that the Cupertino-based company will indeed unveil the new device before the end of the month. Furthermore, it looks as if it will blow everyone away.

Forbes, thanks to Japanese site Macotakara, has reiterated that the 2016 MacBook Pro and 2016 MacBook Air will arrive within the month. This not only proves other reports but is solidly backed up by Rhoda Alexander, the Director Tablet and Notebook PCs at IHS Markit Technology, whom the publication spoke with.

"Production started in the second calendar quarter on refreshes of the 13.3-inch and 15.4-inch MacBook Pro [and] the 13.3-inch MacBook Air," she said. Estimating the production time, Alexander then confirmed that the public could expect a release within the month of October. For now, it looks like it will happen on October 27.

The publication goes on to claim that the upcoming 2016 MacBook Pro will sport a USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports, which effectively eliminate the need for a USB Type-A connector. As such, it is also likely that the MagSafe connector may go. The latter is quite surprising as this feature has been standard in Apple's Mac products.

First introduced in 2006, the MagSafe feature is a series of magnetically attached power connector. The feature is a safety one, as the connector is held firmly by magnetic strips. While the hold is still strong, removing the same - if someone were to trip over the wires, for example - is also easy and poses no threat.

As Mashable notes, there is still time for Apple to announce a 2016 MacBook. Apple, after all, seems to have a preference for October events, as proven in previous years. The clock, however, is ticking and the Cupertino-based company might lose its opening.
