Jelly Bean Update List From Samsung Revealed For U.S.

Samsung owners in the U.S. finally have something to look forward to, as far as Jelly Bean updates are concerned. Per reports, the company has now released an official list of carrier-by-carrier updates for the upcoming Jelly Bean software upgrade for different Samsung devices that are eligible to get the over-the-air (OTA) update.

"Samsung, Google and the carrier partners are working together to upgrade devices to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as quickly and as smoothly as possible. Specific models that will receive the Jelly Bean update include the following devices," the company states in its official page. "Specific timing for the availability of the Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S III in the U.S. has not been announced."

As far as the updates are concerned, it seems like the Galaxy Nexus (SCH-I515) on Sprint and Verizon have already been updated by users, as the manufacturer has pushed out the JB update for both the device on the two carriers.

Interestingly, the device that is widely expected to receive the update - Samsung Galaxy S3 - has been left without a specific date as to when the users will get Jelly Bean juice on their devices. The company stated that the update is "Coming Soon" for S3 users on Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular.

Nonetheless, the new list is expected to be upgraded as it is currently losing out on a number of devices that have internationally been given the green light for an upcoming Jelly Bean update. For example, there's no mention of the Galaxy Note or Galaxy S2 on this chart, and it instead focuses entirely on the Galaxy S3 and Samsung's Nexus models.

The new U.S.-based list for Jelly bean updates has arrived after it was reported last month that the international version of the S3 was already getting the OTA update. It was also stated that countries like Poland, Romania, and the UK were among the first regions in line to get Google's latest platform upgrade.

The Jelly Bean update is said to include fixes and improvements, apart from the latest version of Android (including Project Butter and Google Now). The improvements will also see users receive a new settings menu, two homescreen modes, a new Notification Tray, along with a resizable Pop-up Play.
