Ford Kuga SUV 2017: Full Specifications and Price Revealed

Ford Motor Company has announced further details of the renewed Kuga 2017 model before it goes on sale later this year. The American multinational automaker updated the exterior styling, new engine variants, and improved built-in technology.

The Ford Kuga is a compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) produced by Ford since 2008. It is based on the C1 platform, that also forms the underpinnings of the Ford Focus and Ford C-Max. Both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are offered.

According to Net Car Show, the new Ford Kuga SUV 2017 offers Ford's sophisticated SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system, innovative driver assistance technologies, an ergonomic and comfortable interior, and powerful and efficient engines including Ford's 120 PS 1.5-litre TDCi diesel that returns 4.4 l/100 km (64.2 mpg) and 115 g/km CO2.

The Exterior

The new Ford Kuga benefits from a revised front end with tweaked grille design, restyled LED daytime running lights and reshaped bumpers with fog lamps in a different place. As reported by Auto Express, the back end is being updated with a reshaped boot lid and taillamp treatment. Top spec models retain the fake diffuser and twin exhaust outlets, as well as the rear lights in the bumper.

On the sides, the vehicle features a shiny chrome lining that highlights the greenhouse area. There is a thick character line running almost the entire length of the crossover SUV. The lower part of the side profile features a thick black cladding. The new wheel arches are also huge.

Other features include a panoramic sunroof and two roof rails. The vehicle will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels but there is an option for either 18- or 19-inchers. Dimension-wise, the Kuga is 4,524 mm long, 1,838 mm wide, 1,702 mm tall and has a 2,690-mm wheelbase.

The Interior
Ford says the dashboard has been crafted to offer a more ergonomic design, although it doesn’t look that different from what has gone before. The screen is bigger and there are fewer buttons for the air-con and audio system, while the center console has been cleared up with an electronic parking brake. New kit such as a heated steering wheel also features.

This has freed up space which has allowed addition  storage tray just ahead of the armrests. A new USB port has also been added to the setup.

The Price

The new Ford Kuga is available to order now, with prices starting from £20,845 ($25 460) for a Zetec model with an 118bhp 1.5-litre Ecoboost turbo petrol engine. You can step up to Titanium spec from £24,245 ($29 623) , with the sporty new ST-Line trim available from £25,845 ($27 5943).
