Bhangarh Fort - Rajasthan, India

According to legends, the place was placed under a curse by a black magic sorcerer. Everyone who then lived in that palace started to die an unnatural death and people believed that their spirits stayed there for centuries now to haunt the fort. The place is said to be the most haunted spot in the whole of India and nobody dared to stay there after dusk since it is believed that no one can come out from fort after dark. This is one of the major reasons why houses can't be found near the fortress.

Monte Cristo Mansion - New South Wales, Australia

The Monte Cristo mansion might be an attractive colonial house from afar, but a lot of travelers have testified that the place in haunted. Folk stories have it that Mrs. Crawley, the owner of the said mansion, locked herself up inside after her husband died. She never came out of the house for 23 years until she finally died in agony. It was said that her spirit still lingers in the mansion and neighbors as well as passersby can here taunting cries from the inside. It was also reported that travelers who dare to see the inside of the mansion come out pale, and all color blue.

Waverly Hills Sanitorium - Kentucky, United States

The two-storey building was originally constructed to serve as a tuberculosis hospital. It has lasted until the mid of 20th Century where the said disease was at its dark ages. Records noted 63,000 deaths on the hospital which is said to include mistreatments and several experimental procedures that have killed patients. These are said to be the ingredients that created the horror in the place. It is now considered as one of the most haunted buildings U.S.A.

Vast amounts of reports said that the building were seen with fleeting shadows, and full bodied apparitions; people can also hear screams from empty rooms as well as footsteps; and those who claim to be psychics recorded sudden cold spots among many others.

The Citadel, Nova Scotia, Canada

The Halifax Citadel has been labelled as one of the most haunted historical sites of Canada. There have been numerous reports of ghost sightings within the fortress over the years. Staff, as well as visitors, have reported countless apparitions that seem to guard the place and walking around the grounds. A visitor even said that he witnessed a soldier walk into one of rooms of the fort's prison area. Other ghostly figures like an old man, a man in a red cloak, and an old lady were also seen in the place.

Ghost haunting groups even said that a little girl has been following them with several of the members claiming they were held through their hands by the girl. Other reports include unexplained bangs and knocks, moving furnitures, and disembodied voices among several others.

Screaming Tunnel - Niagara Falls, Ontario

This old tunnel is located beneath a railway track that is connecting Niagara to Toronto and New York City. Legends claim that a farm house was built near the south entrance of the tunnel but was burned to ashes. There were no reports on how the house caught fire but a young girl was said to run while doused in flame, screaming for help until she died waiting for rescue inside the tunnel. Since then, town folks who walk through the dark tunnel and try to light a match would come out screaming and are said to be haunted by the girl to death.
