Another episode of 'Naruto Shippuden' aired and this time it was about beloved characters Sasuke and Sakura. The complexity of their younger lives was explored giving a much more in-depth answers on how they eventually became who they are in the future.
"Naruto Shippuden" Episode 481, Part 1: Sasuke
The first half of the episode focused on the story of a six-year-old Sasuke and his older brother Itachi Uchida. The younger Sasuke is desperate for some attention from the very busy Itachi and he was so happy to finally be able to spend time with him.
The two Uchida brothers trained together and at such a young age, it was already apparent that Sasuke is skilled with Kunai training. The two brothers spent a lot of time talking about the meaning of the Uchida clan crest. It was explained that "a fan is needed to flame fire," thus the fan symbol the crest. They camped out for the night, however, upon waking up the next day, Sasuke was disappointed to discover that his brother had already left for another mission.
"Naruto Shippuden" Episode 481, Part 2: Sakura
The second half of the episode focused on the young Sakura. She is currently attending the Ninja Academy and entered the scene with some hair problems. Sakura is starting to feel insecure and having a hard time dealing with her because of her big forehead. Her long bangs did not seem to do the trick that time which got her really frustrated.
Luckily, Ino Yamanaka came to the same academy and became friends with her. Ino gave Sakura a red ribbon to help her with her hair and solve her forehead problem. The two young girls became very close and they became the best of friends. However, things started heading south when Sakura confessed to Ino that she has a crush on Sasuke. Sakura's confession drove Ino away since she has a thing for Sasuke as well. She abruptly ended her friendship with Sakura. To make the situation much worse, Sakura was also rejected by Sasuke when she told him about her feelings.
