Toyota Unveils Turbocharged Land Speed Cruiser; Takes SEMA 2016 By Storm

Toyota Motors, one of Japan's leading car manufacturers never ceases to bring great vehicles from cars for daily drives, sports cars, vans and SUVs. This year is no different as the company graced the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show 2016 in Las Vegas where it unveiled the turbocharged Land Speed Cruiser.

The Land Speed Cruiser Is No Ordinary SUV

In Autoblog's report, the Land Speed Cruiser appears to be like the stock Land Cruiser in most areas. It has the same 5.7-liter V8 engine, however it now sports a custom ATI transmission and equipped with Garrett turbochargers on both sides. This gives it more than 2,000 horsepower that allows it to reach a top speed of 220mph. In addition, the aerodynamics has also been tweaked along with meatier tires to make sure that the vehicle stays on the ground during high speed drives.

The Land Speed Cruiser 2016's Other Changes

It has also been reported by Autoweek that the builders lowered the suspension of the Land Speed Cruiser 2016 to the point where the suspension was already out. Its frame has also been "Z'd" for lower ground clearance and its track has been made narrower for the beefier tires to fit in. Lastly, a drag-racing clutch has also been installed. In the same report, Autoweek stated that creating an exact opposite of the stock Land Cruiser is the purpose of the builders for all these modifications.

One Of Toyota's Six Extreme Builds

Apparently, there is more to just the Toyota 2016 Turbocharged Land Speed Cruiser taking the 2016 SEMA by storm because there are five more of Toyota's extreme builds and four of them will be competing in the Battle of The Builders competition.

Of course, not everyone has the same taste in SUVs and some people prefer the compact hybrid SUV type. In that case, the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is a good option to consider.
