Taylor Swift Is The Highest Paid Female Artist; Singer Hints Return To Country Music?

In 2014, Taylor Swift made a big shift from country to pop music. It looks like it was a good decision as she is reported to be the highest-paid female artist with total earnings of $170 million last year which is more than two times bigger than what Adele made. However, reports claim that the artist has decided to go back to her roots and do country music again.

It can be remembered that country music star Taylor Swift first announced her fifth album titled "1989" where it was very clear that she is leaving country music and has decided to go pop. She said, "This is my very first documented, official pop album," and described the album as the "most sonically cohesive album" she has ever made. In one of her interviews, she also mentioned she chose not to include any country music song in her album despite the request of her record label president.

However, it looks like the popular singer / songwriter is hinting about her return with the recent reveal that she was the songwriter of Little Big Town's latest single "Better Man". The singer even appeared in the last moments of the Country Music Association Awards and presented the highest award of the night, entertainer of the year.

While on stage, Swift said "It's been almost 13 years since I came to Nashville with a dream of being a songwriter and a recording artist. And I learned so much about what it means to be an entertainer from the remarkable artists in this arena tonight."

Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town admitted in a press conference that Swift actually reached out to them to record the song as she is a fan of their music. "At her heart, she is the biggest pop star in the world, but she's a songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee," she said.
