The Android 7.0 firmware for Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge is now available for download thanks to a leak. This firmware is the beta version of Android Nougat that is meant for testing. Users can download and flash this firmware manually to try out Android 7.0 on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

The Galaxy Beta program is now available in the United Kingdom, United States, South Korea and several other regions. However, to be able to download and try the beta, the user has to be selected by Samsung via a registration process.

Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Android 7.0 Firmware

The beta firmware for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge was leaked by Choimobile and this firmware is meant for the international models. To flash them manually, a rooted Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge is required. The firmware can be flashed using the recovery.

It is worth noting that because this is a beta test version of Android 7.0 Nougat, there will be bugs and issues. The firmware may not be stable and may crash or even brick the device. Therefore, it is necessary to back up files before flashing the firmware.

The firmware version for the Galaxy S7 is G930FXXU1ZPK4, whereas the Galaxy S7 Edge firmware version is G935FXXU1ZPK4. According to SamMobile, the firmware is smooth, responsive and very clean, but the site still recommends not to install the beta firmware and instead wait for the official update.

Android 7.0 Nougat Update

The Android 7.0 update for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge still does not have a confirmed release date. It could be out in a few weeks, or it could take months.

In the new update, Samsung uses the Grace UX that was available in the Galaxy Note 7. It has less bloatware and is much cleaner and smoother than TouchWiz.
