PlayStation 4 Update: Why It Is The Best Time To Buy One

After the release of the PlayStation 4 Pro, the price of the PlayStation 4 reduced. Well, why not? Read more to know if you should buy the PS4 or the PS4 Pro.

PS4 Priced Got Slashed

According to a written article at Know Your Mobile, the original price tag of the PS4 which was $450 is now $273. Given that December is fast approaching, the price might even go lower. So if you're interested in buying a PS4, a little more patience will be needed before you jump the gun. Come on, who doesn't want a great deal?

PS4 Versus PS4 Pro

The belief that "newer is better" always wins, right? In this case, it doesn't. The fact that the PS4 Pro is better than the PS4 is true in terms of 4k HDR graphics and other performance issues that the PS4 had. However, that is only the difference between the two if you really think about it.

One of the many factors is that there are no exclusive games for the PS4 Pro. There has also been a report that the PS4 games are running slow in the PS4 Pro due to compatibility issues. Yeah, to think that the PS4 Pro is supposed to be an "upgraded" version of the PS4 is having problems running the PS4 games in unfathomable.

What's Wrong With PS4 Pro?

Apparently, in Sony's defense, the PS4 Pro is having technical difficulties due to it being a "new product" in the market. This excuse doesn't make any sense. They had a PS4 as its based model (note: it is not a PS5), tweaked it a little with some upgraded (such as 4k HDR features, more storage space, etc.). So why will there be issues?

Buying a PS4 Pro means buying a 4k TV

It was confirmed by Sony that you need a 4k TV to maximize the PS4 Pro's capabilities, but that is only optional because even without a 4k TV, you can still see a slight improvement on its graphical display. However, that "optional" thing is not true. There have been reports from PS4 Pro owners about TV connection failures, leaving the owner staring at a blank screen instead of staring at 4k HDR images - Forbes. Way to go, Sony!

The Final Verdict

Aside from the 4k HDR feature that the PS4 Pro is marketed to be, 4k TV needed to play peacefully without staring at a blank screen, and that there are no exclusive games for PS4 Pro, are those things really needed to enjoy a game? We all know Bloodbourne and Dark Souls which are really great games and looks great on the PS4. If you're really that strict about graphics, then buy a PC instead. It has more options and uses (but quite expensive to upgrade).

The thing is, if you care about getting the best of your money's worth, PS4 is the console worth buying compared to the PS4 Pro. There are just so many things to consider when buying a PS4 Pro. And even if Sony will be able to fix the issues that the PS4 Pro is currently having, the fact that there are no games exclusive for the PS4 Pro is already a deal breaker.
