The Matrix PowerWatch Is The First Smartwatch To Be Powered By Your Body Heat

The Matrix PowerWatch is still set to release in the market next year. But it is already available for pre-order. The new smartwatch is distinct from the other smartwatches in the market. It is claimed to be the first to not require charging. The Matrix PowerWatch is actually powered by a person's own body heat.

What Does The Matrix PowerWatch Do?

The Matrix PowerWatch works like any other smartwatch. It determines how much calories were burned, the activity level and sleep of a person. However, it does stand out since it actually uses advanced thermoelectric technology. Moreover, it also features a power meter.

According to Indiegogo, the power meter displays how much electricity a person's body heat is generating. The highlight of this new smartwatch is it allows users to not worry about having to charge it. This is because the Matrix PowerWatch is powered by a person's body heat.

How Does The Body Heat Powers The Smartwatch?

According to CNET, the Matrix PowerWatch uses temperature gradients. These will create an electrical current. It also utilizes a transformer. This will amplify the charge to run a low-power processor.

Indiegogo explained that the smartwatch goes to sleep when it is taken off from your wrist. Likewise, your data will be stored in the memory. The usual smartwatches have to be removed from your wrist to be charged. Apparently, the Matrix PowerWatch works the other way around.

Once the user puts it back on, it will resume to its state when you last wore it.

Other Features

The Matrix PowerWatch will wirelessly sync with the Matrix iOS and Android apps. It will also support Apple Healthkit and Google Fit. Another feature includes a changeable watch face that adapts to the user's mood.

Different time zones is not also a problem. The watch is enabled to automatically adjust to the current time zone. It will be water resistant to up to 50 meters deep. CNET reports that the Matrix Powerwatch is planned to be shipped for $160 next summer. It can now be pre-ordered via Indiegogo.
