There are so many things to expect from Apple next year. Aside from the upcoming 10th-year-anniversary celebration of the iPhone, the tech giant is also said to release three new iPhones with one bezel-free and edge-to-edge display. According to rumors, Apple will release a 4.7-inch model and two 5.5-inch models next year. Both of the 5.5-inch models will have two rear-facing cameras, but the 4.7-inch won’t. One of the 5.5-inch smartphones will have an OLED display. The other will use a LCD display, as will the 4.7-inch one.
As noted by MacRumors, the note mainly focuses on the display and camera technology in next years iPhones. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that there'll be two sizes with LCD screens - similar to today's iPhone and iPhone Plus - and one with an OLED screen and dual cameras. Therefore, like the current iPhone 7 Plus, the 5.5-inch model coming next year is expected to boast a dual-camera design, as is the OLED version. But according to Kuo, the 4.7-inch size will not gain dual lenses.
The Design Of The iPhones
Kuo said that Apple is widely expected to introduce an all-new design featuring a glass back and OLED display for its flagship iPhone, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the revolutionary handset. However, it's expected that the so-called "iPhone 8" will be sold alongside models with traditional LCD displays, potentially earning them the "iPhone 7s" series moniker.
According to Kuo from AppleInsider, although glass is slightly heavier than aluminum for a smartphone casing, the adoption of an AMOLED display will compensate for the added weight. Kuo said that while 100 percent of iPhones are currently made with aluminum bodies, he expects that number will fall to 40 percent or less following the launch of the 2017 iPhone.
Additional iPads
Barclays Research analysts reported that Apple is heading towards releasing three new iPad models in March 2017. The research team which is composed of Jerry Zhang, Thomas O'Malley, Christopher Hemmelgarn and Blayne Curtis has also said that Apple will released a refreshed 9.7-inch model, 12.9-inch version and the 10.9-inch which is believed to have a bezel-less and edge-to-edge screen display, The Apple Post reported.
As of now, no concrete plans was releasde by Apple yet. Meaning, it i not sure yet if the company will really release three vairants of Apple iPhone or iPad. One thing for sure is that 2017 is the 10th-year anniversary of iPhone. So, hooray for Apple!
