2016 Best Asus Smartphones: Zenfone Max, Zenfone Deluxe, Zenfone Laser, Zenfone Ultra

Asus is one of the best sources of great smartphones. Unlike the more popular brands, Asus' Zenfone collection offers phones that are not only high quality but low-priced as well. If you're looking for a new phone to buy this year, there should be a Zenfone that's perfect for you. The best thing about buying a non-flagship phone is not spending so much for a phone that would get outdated in one calendar year. Buying a midrange phone year after year is far more achievable than buying a very expensive flagship phone one edition after the other. If you're in the market for an Asus phone, here are your best options.

Asus Zenfone 3 Max

This phone was just released this November and it's one of the best midrange phones on the market right now. It's a 5.5 inch device with a decent 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and an Android Marshmallow OS. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor and it does come with sufficient memory. As per GSM Arena, the Zenfone Max has 32 GB storage and a 2/3/4 GB RAM. There's also a microSD slot for up to 256 GB external storage.

The phone also has great cameras (16 MP rear and 8 MP front) and it also has a fingerprint sensor. Needless to say, its 4100 mAh battery is undeniably its number one asset. Normal phablet sized phones just have an average of 3500 mAh battery so the Zenfone Max is indeed very competitive.

Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe

The Zenfone 3 Deluxe is on the higher end of the Zenfone collection as it is powered by a more powerful Snapdragon processor. This phone uses a Snapdragon 820 or 821 chipset and it comes with a larger memory. This 5.7 inch device comes with 64/128/256 GB storage and 4/6 GB RAM. There's also a 256 GB microSD slot included in this smartphone. Additionally, this phone boasts of its 23 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera. Needless to say, this phone also has a fingerprint sensor and a sufficient 3000 mAh battery. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe may sound intimidating but its base model just costs $499, CNET reported.

Asus Zenfone 3 Laser

This phone comes with a 5.5 inch display and a Snapdragon 430 chipset. The Zenfone 3 Laser may be midrange but it does come with impressive memory and cameras. This smartphone has 2/4 GB RAM and 32/64 GB storage. It also has the same microSD capacity as the other Zenfone 3 models. Furthermore, the Laser has a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. It also has a fingerprint sensor and a 3000 mAh battery.

Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra

This supersized phone has a 6.8 inch display with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. It runs Android Marshmallow from the box and is powered by a Snapdragon 652 processor. Aside from the Ultra's massive size, this phone also boasts of its impressive camera set and massive battery. The Zenfone 3 Ultra has a 23 MP rear cam and an 8 MP front cam. It also has a 4600 mAh battery. As for its memory, this phone has a 256 GB capacity microSD slot and 32/64/128 GB storage variants. RAM variants are 3 GB and 4 GB.
