God Of War Plans To Stick With Norse Mythology For At Least A Trilogy

A new God of War game trailer popped out of nowhere during the pre-E3 2016 press conference for Sony earlier this year. It had a different tune compared to traditional God of War which is mostly button mashing and hitting things hard. This time, the style is quite calm and almost says to us that accuracy is better than power. Not to mention he has a son, which is a sure giveaway that the game will be focused on their story.

The game is now turning into Norse mythology as told by its circulating story details. It would make sense since Kratos has already destroyed all Greek mythology gods. More news on top of that, WWG has reported that Cory Barlog - game director has confirmed that the game will indeed go with Norse myth and it will be like that for quite some time. Barlog is also part of the team that made God of War II possible.

The report from WWG also pointed out that Twitter responses from Barlog himself have confirmed our speculations on God of War's long stay with Norse mythology. As you can read on the tweet response below, Barlog responded with "A new saga is beginning, for sure," to the tweet that says, be "the beginning of a new saga or trilogy of Kratos".

It is also important to note that the upcoming God of War game has been in development for at least 3 years. That means the game will most probably be out by next year. Expect the initial game by then. More God of War titles for Norse mythology would most probably mean that Kratos is on another quest to destroy every god that comes his way.

But if this is expected by everybody, would this mean that it's also possible that twists will take place? Perhaps Kratos' maturity has grown and chose not to obliterate his foes? We'll soon find out as soon as it goes out by next year. Until then, you may drop your ideas about the new God of War series via the comments section below. As always, keep it here, and keep gaming.
