Samsung Galaxy S4 May Have SoLux Display

Rumors are circulating that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will have a SoLux display, instead of the current full HD AMOLED Display. It is also being said that the new smartphone will sport the Snapdragon 600 processor instead of Exynos 5.

The rumors began after an anonymous tipster disclosed the information to SamMobile.

"Today we can confirm Samsung will use the Snapdragon 600 and it is clocked at 1.0 Ghz which is 0.2 Ghz higher than the HTC One," SamMobile states on its website.

The source claims that Samsung is ditching the EXYNOS processor due to overheating issues. Additionally, production of Samsung's AMOLED  screens has been disrupted by production problems in the AMOLED factory.

Other specifications of the device include 2 GB of RAM. The site claims that the device will have three variants: 16, 32 or 64 GB. It also provided unconfirmed information regarding the design of the device. It states that its dimensions will be 140.1 x 71.8 x 7.7mm and that it will have a weight of 138 grams. It will come with color options of white or black. Unlike the Galaxy S3, it will be square formed and will have a home button and touch buttons. Aluminum sides and a plastic back indicate that the phone will have a removable battery. On Friday Feb. 22 it was confirmed that the device will have a 13 megapixel camera, as determined by leaked photos taken with the phone.

There is no way to confirm that these rumors are accurate, though MobileMe does have a strong track record with Samsung products. The company plans to hold its own press conference to showcase the S4, most likely on March 14. Meanwhile, rumors continue to stir. Consumers caught a brief glimpse of the product at the International Consumer Electronics Show held in January.
