Actor Emilio Rivera, who played the role of Marcus Alvarez in the FX series "Sons of Anarchy," has recently overturned his previous tweets about his participation in the upcoming "Mayans MC." While Rivera initially seemed thrilled about his supposed lead star role in the "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff, the veteran actor suddenly revealed that he may not appear in the series after all.
Creator Kurt Sutter announced earlier this year about his intention to produce a spinoff and a prequel of FX's critically acclaimed crime flick, "Sons of Anarchy." As the spinoff title has been previously revealed to be "Mayans MC," fans already knew that the upcoming series will feature the Mayans Motorcycle Club along with its gang leader, Alvarez.
To confirm this, Sutter has been constantly posting photos of Alvarez and the members of Mayans MC on Instagram, escalating the excitement among fans. However, Rivera had a lot of fans wondering why he posted a tweet saying he is not sure about his participation in "Mayans MC."
"No, I'm not sure if I'm even on the Mayans yet," Rivera wrote on Twitter. When asked by another fan if he is going to participate in the spinoff, he simply answered, "Talking about it."

With his unelaborated statements, fans are fast to conclude that the actor's part might have been altered, following the change of the franchise's writer. Sutter previously tapped writer Elgin James to pen "Mayans MC." Fans are now speculating that the show will take a different route where Alvarez does not have to be a part of anymore. Sutter and FX have not yet released any statement to address Rivera's post, but fans are clearly disappointed with how things around the "Sons of Anarchy" franchise are going.
Earlier reports have claimed that Charlie Hunnam will not be reappearing in the upcoming two FX projects. These talks alone have already made fans upset, and now the possible axing of Rivera is said to leave the fans with nothing. Alvarez is said to be a key character for the Mayans MC and the club will not be the same without its backbone. Rivera's statement though has only been hyped by fans since the actor did not confirm his absence in the show and said that he and the network are still talking about his possible role.
Apart from dropping hints on his role on "Mayans MC," Rivera also admitted in his post that the character of Alvarez is his favorite part that he ever played. Fans also agree that the actor played his part well and believe that he will be in most of the episodes of "Mayans MC" if it ever happens that he will not be a lead star in it.
