Nokia Lumia 720 And 520 Expected To Land In UK In April

Recently, Nokia announced the affordable Windows Phone 8 devices Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event and now, UK online retailer Clove has confirmed the release date and prices of both the devices.

Previously, WP8-powered Nokia Lumia devices were on the premium side, but now the company is pushing the new WP8 smartphones to the mid-range segment. The prices of both the devices are very competitive, which may give these smartphones an edge over other smartphones in the category.

The Lumia 520 will be available in black and white from April 1, 2013 on and will be priced at £169.99 including taxes, making the smartphone the cheapest Lumia Windows Phone yet. The device sports a 4-inch IPS LCD display with 800 x 400 pixels resolution display with super sensitive touch capabilities.

A 1GHz dual-core CPU and 512MB RAM powers the smartphone. The Lumia 520 has a paltry 8GB of on-board storage, though expandable with a microSD card. A 1430mAh battery fuels the smartphone. The Lumia 520 is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The Lumia 720 will be available for £299.99 (including VAT) only in black from April 1 on. The Lumia 720 sports a 4.3-inch WVGA display. A 1GHz dual-core processor and 512MB RAM powers the smartphone. The Lumia 720 also has 8GB of internal storage with microSD support for extra memory option. The Lumia 720 also includes a 6.7-megapixel rear-facing camera and a powerful 2000mAh battery.

Both the smartphones have Near-Field Communication and wireless charging capabilities.

The Lumia 720 and the Lumia 520 include impressive features and at a competitive price point, both the smartphones may give other handsets in the category a run for their money.
