Fans of HTC in Canada are in for some good news as the Taiwanese company's flagship HTC One smartphone is now up for pre-order via carrier Rogers. Those looking to snag the HTC One can reserve the smartphone via Rogers' Online Reservation System.

Rogers made the pre-orders available from Wednesday, Feb.27, and will offer the HTC One for $149.99 on a three-year contract. However, if you're looking to grab the HTC One from the carrier, be prepared to dole out a down payment of $40 upfront to secure your order.

Other Canadian carriers like Bell, Virgin Mobile and TELUS are also slated to offer the HTC One soon. The price point for the latest HTC smartphone is expected to be along similar lines with Rogers.

In addition to opening the pre-orders for the HTC One, Rogers is also running a contest till March 22, whereby consumers have "a chance to win a SHARP 42″ HDTV with HTC Media Link."

According to a MobileSyrup report, this date could well be the official launch date of the HTC One and herald its arrival in stores.
