DJI Says Sorry After Lowering The Speed Of Inspire 2

When DJI unveiled its new camera drones, they were full of promise. Well, the company is now reneging on one of those promises.

Dà-Jiāng Innovations Science and Technology Co., Ltd or simply DJI, is offering an apology for stating that the Inspire 2 will have a 67 mile per hour speed. Now it is saying it can only reach up to 58 mph.

While 58 mph is still impressive, it still falls short of the Chinese company's promise. And for that DJI says sorry via a letter of apology.

In the letter, the company explained that "after further optimization and testing of various components of the craft, camera gimbal and propulsion system, our engineers have revised those specifications."

The specifications mentioned in the letter are the supposed rate of acceleration of 50 mph in only 4 seconds and the top speed of 67 mph, which was mentioned above.

"The Inspire 2 is now expected to accelerate to 50 mph in 5 seconds ad reach a top speed of 58 mph," continued the letter.

DJI further explained that the change was necessary to prevent the quality and stability of the videos from being compromised.

Despite the setback, DJI still believes that the Inspire 2 is the best of its kind.

"We believe the Inspire 2 is the world's most powerful and versatile aerial platform for professional filmmakers and content creators."

According to Digital Trends, the Inspire 2 is still not available for shipping but the company has already accepted pre-orders. The orders were supposed to arrive on January next year. Because of this error, DJI is offering a full refund for those who have pre-ordered the Inspire 2 and now prefer to cancel their orders. These individuals may visit authorized sellers to arrange for the refund. DJI will also send emails to those affected by this issue to inform them of the refund process.

Aside from the Inspire 2, DJI also announced the Phantom 4 Pro.
