Samsung Galaxy S4 vs. iPhone 5S: Next-Gen Smartphones Faceoff

Rumors of Samsung Galaxy S4 and the next-generation iPhone 5S have been flying thick and fast in the smartphone space. Let's see how the smartphones compare against each other per the rumored specifications:

Screen
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is said to sport a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. Many rumors indicate that the next-generation iPhone will also have a 5-inch display with Full HD.

Camera
The Galaxy S4 is expected to be equipped with a 13-megapixel rear-facing and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. On the other hand, the exact megapixels of the next-generation iPhone 5S camera is still unknown, but rumors suggest that the device will have a super HD camera.

Processors
While the Galaxy S4, as most websites state, is believed to pack in a 1.8GHz quad-core Exynos 5410 octa-core processor. The next iPhone is also speculated to be powered by the next-generation Apple's custom made A6 chip.

Operating System
Some rumors indicate that the Galaxy S4 will run on Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, but recent AnTuTu benchmark results revealed that the Galaxy S4 will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The next-generation iPhone is speculated to run on iOS 7.

Storage
The Galaxy S4 is expected to have 16GB, 32GB and 64GB worth of internal storage with the option to expand using a microSD card. In addition to the 16/32/64GB options, the iPhone 5S will likely come in a 128GB avatar as well.

Form Factor
Not much is known about the dimensions and weight of either the Galaxy S4 or iPhone 5S but users will hope for a sleeker and thinner smartphones. Apple claims that the iPhone 5 launched in September 2012 is the thinnest and the lightest iPhone. It will be interesting to see if Samsung and Apple are able to manufacture a lighter and thinner smartphone when compared to the current smartphones.

Both the Galaxy S4 and the iPhone 5S are undoubtedly the most-awaited smartphones of 2013. We will have to wait and see which device impresses smartphone users and tech gurus alike.
