A group of people posing as Darth Vader and stormtroopers invaded a shop in Odessa, Ukraine on Saturday March 2. They claimed that they did so to confiscate illegal, herbal smoking blends that they asserted were being sold in the store.

The man dressed as Darth Vader gave an order for the others to enter, after which the stormtroopers ran into the store shouting, "For the Emperor!"

"Where are the drugs?" they asked the man who worked there. They searched around the counter and gathered the alleged substances into a saucepan. Afterward, they set the contents of the saucepan on fire and threw a smoke flare into the store.

Soon afterward the shopkeeper called the police. By that time, however, Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers had left. After the event, the man dressed as Darth Vader made a statement to Ukranian journalists.

The Emperor had ordered them "to mercilessly and irreversibly cut the knot of drug dealing: to destroy the shops selling smoking blends and other powders. Those guilty of poisoning the nation should be brought to strict account before the Empire," Vader told the news website Dumskaya.net.

Members of The Internet Party of Ukraine often sport "Star Wars"-related outfits. The party also claims Darth Vader as its deputy head. On Tuesday Feb. 26, Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers tried to assault the Ukranian Ministry of Justice in Kiev. They insisted on a review of the Ministry's decision to abrogate the Internet Party but were stopped short of the hallway by security guards, who quickly blocked their entrance.

Information on the Internet Party's website indicates that the recent event was conducted by a number of people who have yet to be identified. However, on a personal page on the Vkontakte (In Contact) social network, Darth Vader claims that he himself initiated the event.
