'Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?' (DanMachi) Anime Spin-Off 'Sword Oratoria' To Be Released In April 2017

A spin-off novel of "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" ("Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darō ka?") aka DanMachi is going to be adapted in an anime series. "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Sword Oratoria" anime will premiere in April 2017 according to SB Creative's GA Bunko, the official publisher for the original light novel series.

Instead of Bell Cranel, "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Sword Oratoria" will focus on Sword princess Aiz Wallenstein as the main character. Aiz Wallenstein is a first class adventurer from the Loki Familia and also one of the strongest female characters in the series. Aiz became a member of the Loki Familia at seven years old and was recorded as the fastest adventurer to reach level 2 until her record was broken by Bell. Aside from her prowess, Aiz is also known for her beauty; she is rumored to have rejected 1000 suitors.

The official synopsis of "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Sword Oratoria" light novel says Aiz was on a mission with other adventurers at the 50th floor where mysteries and irregularities started to appear. Aiz heads deeper into the Dungeon and meets Bell, who was then being pursued by a Minotaur. The series will also feature the Aiz's dungeon exploration trips with the Loki Familia.

Fujino Ōmori's original "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" light novel series was published in 2013. An anime adaptation by J.C. Staff aired in 2015 and the series is also inspiring a new original video anime. On the other hand, its spin-off titled "Sword Oratoria" debuted in 2014.

As previously reported, speculations of DanMachi season 2 surfaced when the sixth volume of the original series, which continues where the first anime left off, was published. The seventh volume of the series will be released on Dec. 15. "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Sword Oratoria" anime serves as the 10th project to commemorate GA Bunko's 10th anniversary.
