The Powerful Surface Pro 5 Will Be Worth The Wait: Specs, Features, Design

Ever since its release in 2015, the Surface Pro 4 has become one of the most popular tech devices in the market. And despite over a year of availability, it still packs a punch when compared with newer units. Riding on the current success of Microsoft, the company is expected to release the Surface Pro 5, which will be even more powerful.

According to BGR, the Surface Pro 5 is expected to ship with more RAM, more storage space and a more powerful processor as well. It looks as if Microsoft is not withholding anything in this follow up. However, no actual statements from the company has been released.

Nevertheless, the device is estimated to come with 512GB of storage and the upcoming generation of the Intel Kaby Lake Processor. It is likely that the upcoming tablet will also come with USB Type C ports and Thunderbolt 3 ports. Naturally, the Surface Pro 5 will come out of the box with the latest Windows Redstone 3.

Furthermore, it will sport upgrades such as better battery life. This alone would be a big thing as the number one complaint about the Surface Pro 4 is battery. However, updates will also be made to the display and an added fingerprint sensor that is embedded into the screen.

Moreover, the Surface Pro 5 will come with an updated Surface Pen stylus. The pen, which will allow users to write directly onto the screen, will come with a wireless charging feature. Reportedly, the item will be charged via a magnetic dock that connects directly to the device itself.

The best item and most noteworthy of these, of course, is the Kaby Lake i7 Core Processor. This upgrade will reportedly make the Surface Pro 5 more powerful than the current line of MacBook and MacBook Pro units. However, this might be a problem if Microsoft cannot provide the battery life that can supply this much power. Otherwise, the device runs the risk of being ineffective.

It has been reported that Microsoft did not unveil the Surface Pro 5 this year because the reigning Surface Pro 4 is doing so well. As such, it is possible that the Redmond-based company is making as much profit as it can before releasing a fully updated option. However, there is also speculation that it just might be to wait for the various specs.

Forbes adds that it might be because the company is focused on its cloud services, which is likely to drive Microsoft's future to higher standards. What the Surface Pro 5 will offer, however, is a device that can effortlessly take advantage of this. It also provides the company with a worthy player in a growing market.

That is, a device that sits right in between a tablet and a full-blown laptop. Much like the iPad Pro, the Surface Pro devices are able to provide more power than a standard tablet, but is still incredibly portable. The current offering has become a favorite device among influencers who believe in the Windows brand. The Surface Pro 5, when it is released, will just be the epitome of its classification.
