Pokemon Go Update: Niantic Tweaks New Nearby Tracker To Balance Out With Existing Sightings Feature

Several months have passed since Niantic has first introduced the new Nearby Tracking feature for Pokemon Go. It serves as the replacement tracking feature since they have removed the buggy Three-step Tracking System. However, the said tracking was only released exclusively in San Francisco. Currently, Niantic is slowly introducing Nearby Tracking System to the public as its coverage continues to expand worldwide.

According to the report from Polygon, fans have acknowledged these efforts from Niantic, at the same time, the developers are listening to each of the concerns of their players regarding the revised Nearby Tracker which does not seem to perform best. Apparently, the development team has posted recently on a blog stating that they have made some changes to the functionality of the Nearby Tracking when there are few PokeStops in range to provide the best experience upon searching wild Pokemon in real world.

For those who are uninitiated, the Nearby Pokemon Tracker will display the wild Pokemon at a nearby PokeStop. Several players have noticed that they have both the Sightings and Nearby headings appear when there are few PokeStops nearby. However, the Sightings will disappear the moment trainers have 3 or more PokeStops in their area.

As reported, some players are disappointed that they can only view Sightings when there aren't enough Pokemon appearing on the Nearby Section. One player has posted in Pokemon Go's popular Reddit forum The Silph Road hoping that Niantic would consider adding an option two switch between the two. Another player also said that he would not mind seeing a Pidgey at a Nearby stop as catching the Pokemon around him would be a more efficient move.

Overall, players just wanted a separate section for both Sightings and Nearby. By that case, they have the freedom to track Pokemon and not forced to go to longer distances just to search some specific areas where the Pokemon are.

Apparently, Pokemon Go players are starting to feel comfortable with the new in-game tracker system which was a very controversial feature in the past. Though it is not perfect at the moment, Niantic is doing their best to provide satisfaction to their players.
