“Naruto Shippuden” just aired its first two episodes of its latest arc that will be focusing on Uchiha Sasuke as the main character. Episode 484 titled “The Exploding Human” was aired on Dec. 1 while episode 485 titled “Coliseum” was just aired on Dec. 8.

The arc started with two unidentified shinobi (ninja) who attacked a wandering man, who claimed to be from Konoha Village. The attackers used a certain type of visual jutsu that was unknown to many. It headed on to showing Haruno Sakura and Uzumaki Naruto reporting incidents of missing persons to the present Hokage, Kakaksi Hatake.

The news alarmed them as a group of unknown people, who flooded in like zombies, attacked the entrance of Konoha Village. Naruto and Sasuke along with Hyuuga Hinata, Yamanaka Ino, Akamichi Choji, and Shikamaru Nara fended off the unwilling attackers. Sakura then noticed that every time the zombie-like people got hurt and bled, they would turn into walking bombs and explode in a few seconds.

After saving a few of them, Sakura and Hinata tried to figure out the source of the manipulation by checking into the victims’ chakra. But it seemed like they could not as the jutsu used was a high-level visual jutsu. Kakashi then ordered Sai to send out a message for Sasuke telling him to return as soon as possible to Konoha as he was only who can get to the bottom of the matter.

Meanwhile, Sasuke is still wandering the vast world outside Konoha Village as he seeks retribution and also on the look out for anything out of the ordinary. Getting the message from Sai and Kakashi, he coincidentally bumps into a small Bamboo village who happened to become victims of the exploding humans. In that said village, he met and fought with two wandering shinobi named Choni and Nowaki.

Choni uses water type jutsu while Nowaki uses wind type jutsu and these two eventually patched things up with Sasuke and joined him in pursuit of the ones behind the attacks. Choni and Nowaki explained to Sasuke that the probable reason behind the attacks was because somebody wanted to get revenge. Apparently, a group of wandering shinobi called Lightning Gang used to steal money from the bad rich people and gave that money they stole to poor and small villages. Then came a time when the Lightning Gang was betrayed by the Hidden Mist and barely escaping the feud, the gang fled to the Bamboo village seeking refuge but they were refused, hence the gang’s leader intent to get even.

Sasuke delved into the minds of the victims in the village and sought out answers through their memories. Within those memories, he found someone is using the dark just called Kekkai Gekkai on unwilling people. Shocked, Sasuke approaches Orochimaru for help in looking for the culprit.

In order to lure out the possible person behind the attacks, Sasuke had to join an underground fighting game held in a hidden island for the rich people. The said coliseum held matches that brought in hired ninjas to fight one another. It was another form of gambling designed as a brawling entertainment for the rich people.

It ended with the culprit finally revealing himself as he was interested in Sasuke being part of the fight. The next episode of “Naruto Shippudden” titled “Fushin” will be aired on Dec. 15 on Tokyo TV and will continue with the arc.
