NBA Trade Rumors: Boston Celtics Getting Anthony Davis From The New Orleans Pelicans And Rudy Gay From The Sacramento Kings?

It seems that the name of Anthony Davis is now added to the roster of NBA trade rumors. His team, the New Orleans Pelicans, have been struggling since the start of the current season. Apparently, there is a probability that the towering center may be headed to the Boston Celtics before the end of the trade deadline.

It Seems Davis' Good Stats Are Not Enough

Despite Davis' averaging 2.8 blocks, 11.2 rebounds, and 30.5 points, his team was only able to win 8 out of the 26 games it played in the regular season. Some observers believe that his disappointment is growing by the minute. His team is continuously sliding down the NBA standings fuelling NBA trade rumors that he is ready for a trade and may ask his team to do so.

In this trade scenario, the Celtics will acquire Davis together with Terence Jones. Meanwhile, the Pelicans, according to these NBA trade rumors, will get Amir Johnson, Jaylen Brown, Avery Bradley, and the Nets' 2017-16 first-round choice (through the Celtics) and the Grizzlies 2019 first-round choice (also through the Celtics).

Are The Celtics Looking For Superstars?

In a related development, Danny Ainge, Celtics GM, announced recently that acquiring Rudy Gay of the Sacramento Kings could be one of their best options available to them at this time. Gay himself stated that he will be leaving his team after this season. This development seemingly confirms the many NBA trade rumors involving Gay going to certain NBA teams.

In this particular trade scenario, the Celtics will acquire Gay, Ty Lawson and Willie Cauley-Stein from the Sacramento Kings. The Kings, in return, will obtain Tyler Zeller, Amir Johnson, and Terry Rozier, along with the 2018 first-round choice of the Celtics, and also the 2019 first-round choice of the Grizzlies by way of the Celtics. It appears that in these NBA trade rumors, the Celtics are searching for superstars that will give them better chances to reach the playoffs.
