With all the news surrounding Ben Affleck nowadays, it is no surprise that people will delve in to the past. Affleck reveals more details about the upcoming “Batman” movie and even shared his experience playing the role of “Daredevil” in its standalone movie. Meanwhile, Matt Damon has expressed his interest in playing the character of Batman.

Ben Affleck recently went on an interview to promote his movie, “The Accountant” and other upcoming projects that include the awaited DC movie centered solely on Batman. He has revealed that Matt Damon is jealous of him and wants the Batman role from Affleck. It is no hidden fact that Damon and Affleck are very good friends, too good that it has even been reported that Affleck will be spending the Christmas holidays with Damon after the former’s divorce with “Alias” actress wife, Jennifer Garner. Affleck has even affirmed that their friendship has not tarnished all these years and Hollywood did not get in the way of it.

Anyway, Affleck further revealed that Damon wants to try out the Batman role for a change. Affleck has pointed out that all Damon gets to do is play Jason Bourne and he has been doing that for quite a long time now running around in the movies. The bantering and jealous fits initiated years ago when Damon turned down the role of Daredevil after being originally offered the role for the 2003 film. But Affleck grabbed the “Daredevil” main role as soon as Damon refused it and it became an inside joke between them when the movie flopped and received unfavorable critic reviews.

Speaking of “Daredevil”, it seems like the real reason why Affleck took on the role of Batman is because he was haunted by taking on the role of Daredevil. After the public dubbed the 2003 Marvel movie dull despite Affleck fitting the role just well, the actor wanted to prove that he could do better. So when the Batman role was offered on the plate, he immediately said and decided that it was the movie he wanted to do and he wanted to be part of it badly.

“Part of it was I wanted for once to get one of these movies and do it right—to do a good version. I hate ‘Daredevil’ so much,” Affleck confessed. He further admitted that it frustrated him more seeing that the Netflix series adaptation of Marvel’s Daredevil has been given the chance to do cool things. He felt like there was so much to explore with Daredevil’s character and the movie did no justice to that.

Well, Affleck has indeed proved to the entertainment industry that he can still make it as a superhero as he bounced back to stardom after making “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” one of the highest grossing movies this year with the movie earning $330 million in the box office. Affleck will be reprising his role as Batman in the upcoming Warner Bros. and DC movie, “Justice League”, which has been slated to premiere on Nov. 17, 2017.

Aside from that, it has just been confirmed that he is currently working on a solo movie for Batman, which has been officially and temporarily called, “The Batman”. The said movie has resulted in the “Justice League” sequel being pushed back to give way for Affleck to produce the Batman movie and still be part of the said sequel. Matt Damon, on the other hand, will be starring in “The Great Wall” and is also preparing for three more movies that include “Ocean’s Eight”, which is set to release in 2018.
