NBA 2K17 Update: A New Kind Of After Dark Is Coming This Month

The previous NBA 2K17 After Dark event didn't turn out well, despite 2K Games saying otherwise. Apparently, the studio is set to introduce yet another this month. Now, it's going to be a little different. The forthcoming event will include the titular hip hop superstar Future.

The announcement was made via the official Twitter account of the game. It is set to commence come Dec. 30, two days prior to New Year. It'll take off around 11 PM EST or 8 PM PST. Just like the previous one, it's expected to let players use VC to purchase a good number of festive, glowing clothing.

The forthcoming NBA 2K17 After Dark event will also allow players to experience a couple of mini-games, all exclusive on that day. The likes of three-point and dunk contests may find their way to the event, too. But of course, these aren't the only stuff to be enjoyed on that day.

The event will feature music, all handpicked, from the artist Future. Note that the recently concluded introduced Snoop Dogg and a couple of DJs. The said hip hop extraordinaire will serenade the community all throughout the night. As of this writing, 2K Games has yet to reveal a specific end time. Nonetheless, it's expected to happen all throughout the wee hours until the very first in the morning.

The only thing the developer has to consider this hime is how well and efficient the NBA 2K17 servers will be. In the previous one, this was the main issue. Servers were frequently crashing, disallowing players to join the event. Heck, there were even those who, despite being able to join, seemed not to progress throughout the celebration.

Hopefully, the studio has already made some server-side updates and whatnots in hopes to make the event better than before. In fact, an update was already made. The only catch, though, is it didn't list any of the changes or tweaks made.
