Asus ZenFone AR Rumors: Asus May Be Unveiling New ZenFone In Its Zennovation Show At The CES 2017

Asus just released a teaser video that falls a bit short of confirming that it will launch the new ZenFone at the Consumer Electronics Show next year.

The CES 2017, which will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center once more, is not due for another two weeks but Asus decided to sort of beat itself to the punch with the teaser video. In the 30-second video titled "Explore the Unknown", there was a sighting of a couple of ZenFones or at least the outlines of one or two smartphones.

According to GSM Arena, the outlines sported two different symbols which may mean that two new ZenFones will be announced in two week's time. This may also mean that there's only one phone that was shown twice in the short video.

A new ZenFone at the CES 2017 should not come as a surprise. Asus already announced that it will unveil the new device at the technological tradeshow. What's surprising is the existence of this video ad.

With that in mind, here is a quick rundown of information gathered about the new ZenFone:

One rumor states that the new Asus device will be called ZenFone 3 Zoom. Some speculations state that the new ZenFone will come in three variants while another says that it will not be a top-of-the-line device. It is said to have only the Snapdragon 625 chipset under its hood.

Other rumors say that it will sport a 5.5-inch full HD display and be powered by a 4,859mAh battery. A 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage are high-end specs so this contradicts the earlier rumor.

It is also said to have a dual-camera module just like the ones used in the iPhone 7, LG G5 and Huawei P9. The dual-camera is the direction the trend is going so this rumor will likely be proven true.
