HTC One To Hit U.S. In April, UK This Week

New information has come to light regarding the release date of the HTC One.

According to HTC, the new HTC One will debut this week in the UK, Taiwan and Germany. It will become available in North America by the end of April, though no specific day has been indicated.

"HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One, and the care taken to design and build it is evidenced in early reviews," HTC said in a statement on Friday. "The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April. We appreciate our customers' patience, and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that it has been worth the wait."

Many smartphone enthusiasts are getting quite excited about the HTC One, and it's easy to see why, given the device's stunning full HD display and compelling design. The phone, which will run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, includes a 4.7-inch full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and 468 ppi. It will run on a quad core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and include 2GB of RAM with both 32GB and 64GB built in storage options. The device will also come with a new Ultrapixel camera and HTC's Sense 5 user interface.

HTC claims that the HTC One's camera sensor can collect 300 percent more light. The camera comes with an f/2.0 lens along with Beats Audio and a pair of front-facing speakers.

The fact that the U.S. release of the HTC One coincides with that of the Galaxy S4 is likely no coincidence. It may be that HTC is attempting to draw attention from the smartphone juggernaut the Galaxy S4. HTC certainly made an attempt to on March 14 by crashing the Galaxy S4 launch event, showing off the One to interested attendees.

We'll be sure to keep you posted on an exact release date for the HTC One when that information becomes available.
