Apple To Pursue Its Plans For Augmented Reality

Tim Cook, Apple's CEO isn't exactly secretive when it comes to the company's interest regarding augmented reality. However, Apple hasn't really confirmed what its plans are surrounding the said technology. Nevertheless, a new report has surfaced saying that the company may be on its way to bring its own version of AR to its fans.

Apple And Carl Zeiss Said To Be Teaming Up

Carl Zeiss is a popular name when it comes to lenses and optical specializations. You might have heard that name in matters involving cameras alongside ophthalmic medical solutions. As per a Tech Radar report, this trusted company could be partnering with Apple to produce mixed-reality glasses to the AR market. This leak started from enthusiast Robert Scoble who was allegedly able to confirm from a Carl Zeiss employee that Apple has ties to the said company, as per a Mac Rumors report.

Apple's Direction For AR/VR

Among the two trending "realities", Apple is expected to head towards augmented reality as Tim Cook describe VR as an "enclosed experience". It is obvious how much Apple wants to launch something big and something new to the market as its previous products failed to hype people up big time. The company's Mac sales aren't exactly impressive and its iPad sales are just as slow. Even the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, although praised here and there, weren't exactly as warmly welcomed as its older siblings.

The Future Of Augmented Reality

AR is undeniably still in the process of making it big in the high-tech market. It might still be waiting for a giant company to lead people into seeing how amazing AR is. If Apple indeed plans to enter the AR market anytime soon, there's no doubt that the said technology will become a big hype. Whether or not it would be a hype that will live up to the expectations, it's still hard to predict right now.
