AT&T Will Start Selling Kindle Fire HD From April 5

AT&T recently announced the carrier will start offering Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE on April 5. Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE will be available in AT&T stores and online.

"Being the first carrier to connect Amazon's Kindle Fire HD to our 4G LTE network provides the best mobile internet experience," says Chris Penrose, senior vice president of emerging devices, AT&T.  "Combining our 4G LTE with Kindle Fire HD's rich features at an incredible price point yields a great value and experience for our customers."

AT&T will sell the 32GB version of the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE for $399, which is the same price Amazon charges for the tablet. However, the carrier will offer a $150 discount for a limited time. The price tag of $249 is less than the cost of Kindle Fire HD without 4G LTE capabilities. AT&T will be giving users a chance to add the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 to its Mobile Share Plans for $10 a month.

"We're excited to work with AT&T to offer the 4G LTE version of Kindle Fire HD 8.9" to AT&T customers across the country," says Mike McKenna, vice president, Amazon Kindle.  "Customers tell us they love our large-screen Kindle Fire HD for browsing the web, writing emails, watching movies, reading magazines, and more - and with AT&T's 4G LTE technology, everything is faster and more convenient."

The Kindle Fire HD 8.9 sports an 8.9-inch display with 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution and 254 pixels per inch (ppi). The tablet has good battery life, which offers up to 10 hours of continuous usage.

The Kindle Fire HD 4G LTE is the first Kindle Fire to run on AT&T 4G LTE.
