The Nintendo Switch Is Officially Getting The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Back when the Nintendo Switch was first announced, the short clip had snippets of games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and what looked like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Though the game wasn't really confirmed back then, fans can now be sure that they will be able to play a portable version of Skyrim when they get the Nintendo Switch.

According to Siliconera, the news was confirmed by Bethesda's Todd Howard during the Nintendo Switch presentation. With such an expansive world and detailed look, it's a wonder how Nintendo was able to make a portable device that was able to run something as heavy as Skyrim.

Polygon has also noted that Howard has expressed his excitement for having Bethesda working with Nintendo for the first time. He says, "The switch is both classically Nintendo and something new, and we are honored to be a part of it."

There was also no clarification on whether the version of Skyrim coming to the game was the remastered version that came out last year or the original 2011 edition, but it's possible that the developers will be releasing something that suits the current generation of consoles. Fans just hope that the Switch has enough power to run those updated graphics.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim brings players to the world of Tamriel and the kingdom of Skyrim, where they control their own character who is also known as the Dragonborn. The game is an open-world fantasy adventure game that promises hundreds of hours of content - counted that the player doesn't take any arrows to the knee. The game received ratings of 5/5 from Metacritic and 94/100 from PC Gamer back when it first launched. No release date has been announced for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the Nintendo Switch, but hopefully it will on the same launch date on March 3.
