Ninja Gaiden Fans Hope Nioh Fails Big Time; Find Out Why

Ninja Gaiden fans are hoping that the new game Nioh fails big time. Here's why they will harbor such thoughts.

Meet Team Ninja

The Ninja Gaiden series and Nioh are both developed by Team Ninja. The former has acquired a fearsome reputation of being a tough game to beat. The latter though is a new title that the developer hopes to make an impact with gamers.

After Nioh Comes Ninja Gaiden Maybe

Nioh is basically an RPG that involves a Samurai with a mixed Dark Souls and Dynasty Warriors gameplay. The team's creative director Tom Lee hinted that Ninja Gaiden is their next project, according to UsGamer. Unfortunately, he did not have any specific details such a release date.

Lee did also admit that Ryu Hayabusa is one of their most important characters. For now, it seems the developer is content to let him rest. This is because both developer and game publisher Tecmo Koei are focused on their latest project which is Nioh. Once this new game is successful though, in terms of sales, sequels and DLCs are sure to follow. If that happens, Ninja Gaiden fans will have to wait longer for a new installment to come out.

If Nioh Fails...

Fortunately, there's a possible way to speed up the development of Ninja Gaiden title. If for some reason Nioh fails to deliver the expected revenue, Team Ninja may feel compelled to bring out Ryu from retirement.

About Ninja Gaiden

It started as an arcade game in Japan and initially known as Ninja Ryukenden. It later renamed to Ninja Gaiden when the game came to America. From the arcades, it was ported to various platforms that included Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox and Windows PC. The latest installment was Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z and released almost three years ago. Unfortunately, many players and critics did not like it for its gameplay and difficulty. Still, there enough fans who are anxiously waiting for the next sequel.
