Watch Footage From Cancelled 'Sin City' Game

Though "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" wasn't met with the best reviews back in 2014, Frank Miller's black and white noir comic is still considered to be a must-read graphic novel and it still has a loyal following of fans. Some footage has recently been leaked of a cancelled "Sin City" video game that was planned back in 2007, and it features a playable Marv.

According to Eurogamer, the game was being planned with a release close to Robert Rodriguez's first "Sin City" movie that came out in 2005. Aside from playing as Marv, players would also get to control katana-wielding femme fatale Miho, as well as rough and gruff PI, Dwight McCarthy.

The three characters were said to have different play-styles. Marv would be more on the brawler side, being able to fight with his fists as well as items scattered all over the environment like chairs and tables. Miho would be more focused in stealth-based fighting; while Dwight would be used for scanning environments and the occasional cover-based gunfights.

Game Rant says the reason for the game's cancellation could be because of discrepancies with the script of the game. Apparently, game writer Flint Dille was rumored to be deviating from the story that was in the original work by Frank Miller. It looks like the developers never came to an agreement with the story, and Sin City: The Game was eventually scrapped.

Looking at the footage, some would say that it does look amazing for its time. The game looks exactly like the black and white panels from the comic, with the occasional red blood popping out in some scenes. News about cancelled projects isn't really new to the video game scene, but hopefully the Sin City game could find its way being reworked for consoles of the current generation.
