HTC One Sold In The U.S. Sooner Than Expected

HTC launched its flagship smartphone for 2013 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event earlier this year. The HTC One has already reached many regions and U.S. customers are eagerly waiting for the smartphone to make its official appearance soon, but one customer has already grabbed the smartphone from an AT&T store.

"Just went in to my local at&t store to check up on the pre-order deal with the media link since it said it was outta stock online. Was told the pre-order period was last week and the phone was out today. Walked out with a silver 32 gig. Still kinda in shock, since I was convinced it wouldn't be out till next week O_o," notes a user on Android Central's forum.

The increasing competition in the smartphone market is getting intense and with the recent launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC One will definitely feel the pinch. However, the HTC One was awarded as the best new mobile handset, device or tablet at the MWC 2013.

"We are delighted by the reactions from both consumers and the industry to the new HTC One. It is a device that has been years in the making and is one of which we are incredibly proud. With exciting features like HTC BlinkFeed, HTC BoomSound, HTC UltraPixel Camera combined with the zero gap aluminium body design, we believe that the HTC One will really change the way that people use their phones, revolutionising the overall mobile experience," said Benjamin Ho, Chief Marketing Officer for HTC after receiving the award.

The HTC One definitely sports top-end features in its category. The handset sports a 4.7-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution. A 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor powers the handset. The device is equipped with a 2-UltraPixel primary camera (4 megapixels) with LED flash, BSI Sensor and Opticial Image Stabilization. The HTC One has a 2.1-megapixel HD secondary snapper.

The handset includes 2GB of RAM, 32/64GB of on-board storage and packs in a 2300mAh battery. The smartphone will run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with the new HTC Sense UI and HTC BlinkFeed on top.

The lucky customer who has grabbed the HTC One before its official release will relish the handset a bit extra than others. AT&T's official release for the handset is still slated as April 19.
